DESCRIPTION-
“RAI” Industrial Kelvin Double Bridge Model 55X-IK is an important instrument for the measurement of low resistance values ranging from 0.2 Micro-ohms to 11 ohms. This kelvin double bridge is designed for accurate low-resistance measurement and is suitable for industrial, laboratory, calibration, and engineering applications.
The Industrial Kelvin Bridge employs 10 standard resistors made from well-aged manganin sheets having excellent stability and reproducibility. Manganin has a very low temperature coefficient, which is a critical parameter in the manufacturing of resistance standards. Four standard decade dials, ratio selector, and plug keys facilitate accurate null detection.
The instrument operates on the principle of a kelvin bridge, using a four-terminal measurement method to minimize the effects of lead and contact resistance. The arrangement of the bridge circuit, resistance arms, ratio settings, and measurement terminals can be understood through a kelvin double bridge diagram, which illustrates the low-resistance measurement principle and connection method.

A Kelvin Double Bridge is a precision electrical instrument used for measuring very low resistance values while minimizing the effects of lead and contact resistance. The 55X-IK uses a four-terminal measurement method for accurate low-resistance measurement.
The Industrial Kelvin Double Bridge Model 55X-IK measures resistance from 0.2 micro-ohms to 11 ohms, making it suitable for precise low-resistance measurement and calibration applications.
The 55X-IK provides accuracy of ±0.2% ±1 slide wire division below 0.0001 ohm, ±0.1% from 0.0001 ohm to 0.01 ohm, and ±0.05% above 0.01 ohm.
A kelvin bridge uses a four-terminal measurement arrangement to reduce errors caused by lead and contact resistance. The ratio arms, standard resistance, current source, and null detection arrangement work together to provide accurate low-resistance measurements.
The 55X-IK is suitable for industrial, laboratory, calibration, and engineering applications requiring accurate low-resistance measurement. A kelvin double bridge diagram can also be used to understand its circuit arrangement and measurement principle.
